Steve was born in Ft Lauderdale in 1965, moved to Naples at age 12 where he attended Pine Ridge Middle school, graduating from Barron Collier High School in 1983. He then went on to college in Tampa and started a law enforcement career with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in 1986. Starting as road patrol deputy, he then transferred into the Youth Relations Division working with high school students for the majority of his career. He retired in 2012 from CCSO to focus full time on a small sign company. In addition to his law enforcement career and sign company, he was also a backwater charter captain for 30 years and remains an avid fisherman.

Jamie was born in Framingham Massachusetts in 1971. Her family moved to Naples during her senior year in high school where she graduated from Lely High School 1989. She married Steve in 1992 and started a young family with 3 children. Jamie’s primary focus has always been on their children, and they made the decision for her to be a stay at home mom. During those early years she also operated and grew the family business “Sign Up” which is a real estate sign company and still growing 30 years later. Jamie is also an avid fisherman.

Their  3 children, Brittany Driscoll, Taylor Drohan, and Kyle Loyd are now all married and productive citizens of Naples and have given them 5 grandchildren.

In 2006 Steve and. Jamie started the 501c3 charity “Naples Take a Soldier Fishing”. Each September they bring 150 active duty special warfare troops to Naples for some R&R in our paradise and treaty them with the respect that they deserve. During their 3 day/night stay, they are put up  at the Naples Grande hotel and treated to many available activities including golf and fishing. The weekend culminates on Saturday morning as all 150 troops are given a police escort to the start of the tournament to jump aboard 60-70 High end fishing boats out of Hamilton Harbor Yacht Club for a long day of backwater and offshore fishing. Troops bring back their catch to show off to a large crowd to watch the weigh in and crown the champions. The weekend is wrapped up that evening with a 5 star dinner and awards ceremony in the Naples Grande ballroom. The Naples community has wrapped its arms around the event and truly rolls out the red carpet for the troops! Steve and Jamie say they are truly blessed to live in Naples and to have raised their family here.
